Recruitment

GTN Has a longstanding tradition of being composed of the best and brightest Darkspace players. Membership into -GTN- is not easily attained there is a long process involved when it comes to inviting and accepting new members into the fleet. Our code of honor is not easy to uphold at times and not everyone is cut out to be in the Galactic Navy. The fleet has undergone some changes since its inception almost a decade ago but the recruitment process remains at the core of our standings within Darkspace. Below you will find our requirements and a little background information on how we recruit and the process involved.

New members are usually referred to GTN by members already within the fleet or from other respected players. When a player demonstrates excellent abilities in game, and a sense of calm and cool-headed play style they will be referred to the fleet for review.
Recruits must have a minimum rank of Admiral and Silver Star Badge before being considered for GTN. Recruits must also have a minimum of two months of playtime within the account. (If a player can be without a doubt identified as an older more seasoned veteran in a new account this may be taken into consideration in some circumstances)
Review and Survey: Once referred to GTN and after meeting the minimum requirements GTN will then consider the player for review. The review period can take up to one week of time during which the Fleet Admiral, Fleet Commanders and Fleet Officers will all weigh on on the players progress in game and in interaction with other players. The survey and review part of recruitment is usually passive at first. Typically the player will just be watched in game and in the lobby. Their actions and play style will be observed and their actions relayed back to the fleet through the forum. Otherwise the recruit may be asked to complete a task or asked various questions in a "what would you do" style by fleet members. All members of GTN are involved in this process which provides a depth of knowledge about the recruit and differing perspectives over a period of time.
Vote: At the end of the review and survey period all active GTN members will vote aye or nay to allow the member into the fleet. The Fleet Admiral maintains a Veto power on all new recruits unless over-rode by a unanimous vote of all Fleet Commanders.
Re-application: If for whatever reason the fleet denies a candidate for entrance into GTN they may re-apply in a month's time at which point a new recruitment file will be opened and the process will be repeated.
Fast Track: The Fleet Admiral and Fleet Commanders have the discretion to fast track possible candidates into GTN as they deem necessary if it is in the best interests of the fleet. All efforts will be made to ensure that a proper review of the recruit is ongoing during a "probationary" period as long as they are deemed "Enlisted" these members may take longer to reach "Fleet Officer" status than normal recruits due to their unique way of entering the fleet. The Fleet Admiral will generally be the first to call a fast track vote however Fleet Commanders may call one as well. In order to be successful the Fleet Admiral, and at least 1/3 of Fleet Commanders (Currently 2) must agree to allow the member into the fleet. All actions pertaining to this type of recruitment are documented on our fleet forums just as a typical Review and Survey. Also, all Fast Track Recruits must meet and should probably exceed our Minimum rank of Admiral and Silver Star.
